PARADIGM’S 7-year Journey: 7 Lessons Learned

Hi, let’s talk about PARADIGM! Here are the 7 lessons learned from our CEO, H. Clay Myers.

PARADIGM’S 7-year Journey: 7 Lessons Learned

Year 1: We Don’t Teach, We EDUCATE!

Every great invention or development starts with a concept or a dream. PARADIGM was no different. Our 7-year journey began in late 2015, with the idea that quality education should be affordable to anyone, at any time and any place. We believed that the Indonesian market lacked an educational institution that could reach the common people, and allow them access to proper training and education that is vital for success in the modern business world. We launched our dream in December of 2015, having no idea of what was to come. Trust us…it has been an amazing 7-year journey!

Year 2: Plan the Work…Work the Plan

Having a plan is key to success in any industry. Though we have had to make some adjustments during our 7-year journey, our fundamental plan has remained constant: Quality education, respect for our clients and partners, integrity in all we do. These core values were the foundation of our plan, and we have worked that plan relentlessly over the past 7 years.

Year 3: Hire Good People…Then Get Out of their Way

There is no ‘I’ in ‘TEAM’. For any team to be successful, the members must know their roles and be willing to sacrifice things, for the good of the team. During our 7-year journey, we have been fortunate to add some amazing people to the organization. Not only have we brought them in, but we have tried to give them the latitude necessary for them to thrive. Why hire good people, then put restrictions on them? That makes no sense. Hire good people…then get out of their way, so they can shine, and the entire team can prosper

Year 4 (2019): Level Up!

If you’re fortunate, you will have an opportunity to level up during your journey. Our first opportunity came in year 4. We expanded our staff, our clientele, our product line and our market reach. This was a crucial year, as it’s generally considered the cutoff point for success or failure (Over 90% of companies fail within 4 years. For those that survive, the success rate for the long-term jumps to 60%). We took some huge chances and they paid dividends, which was great because…

Year 5: The Storm…and the Sunshine

…certainly, nowhere during our 7-year journey, did we expect to run into a global pandemic. COVID changed the entire landscape of business (as well education, communications, human interaction and so many other facets of life). Companies that were small and agile, like PARADIGM, were able to make the necessary adjustments (online training, working remotely…) quickly and thrive in niche markets. PARADIGM turned darkness into sunshine by being active in community & volunteer programs, coaching individuals, mentoring the youth and assisting those that needed to broaden their business perspectives.

Year 6 (2021): Onwards

As the global pandemic continued into the 2nd year, PARADIGM continued to innovate, offering online training in other countries, video & audio-based learning on multiple platforms, emphasis on soft skills and blending more elements of assessment, coaching and mentoring. This year of our 7-year journey saw us challenge ourselves to be more and do more, and we believe the year was a rousing success.

Year 7 (2022): Industry Leader

By this point in our 7-year journey, PARADIGM had established a loyal following in such areas as service excellence, leadership development & professional English. We were grateful to be associated with several prominent companies and organizations in Indonesia, both in private industry, and the government sector. Having worked with such companies as Cimory, OLX, The Union Group & Unilever, as well as partnering with institutions such as Hoshizora, Inspigo, Kartu Prakerja, Kognisi & the 2018 Asian Games Committee, PARADIGM has established itself as one of the industry leaders in education and training, in Indonesia

The Future: Global Expansion

Always at the forefront of innovation & creativity, PARADIGM finds itself looking outward. The first 7 years have been an incredible journey, filled with ups and downs, joys and pains, laughter and tears, and here we are. We come into the new year, with our eyes on international growth and development, as well as moving into new areas of training and implementing new technological tools, in the process. We want to take a moment to thank everyone that has helped us along the way and we look forward to continuing to serve you. Take care, be well and we’ll see you soon. PARADIGM: We don’t teach, we EDUCATE!
